In March, the European Commission unveiled its 23-step Fintech Action Plan.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published The EBA’s Fintech Roadmap; Conclusions from the Consultation on the EBA’s approach to Financial Technology (FINTECH) on 15 March setting out the EBA’s priorities in this area for 2018/2019. The roadmap takes account of the feedback to the EBA’s 2017 discussion paper on Fintech and the new mandates for the EBA set out in the EU Commission’s action plan, and also sets out the establishment of a Fintech knowledge hub to enhance knowledge sharing and foster technological neutrality in regulatory and supervisory approaches.
