The Master’s programme Finance, Investments and FinTech at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, has once again ranked first in admissions among all master’s programmes offered by the Faculty. In the 2026/2027 academic year, a total of 37 students joined the programme, including 25 students in the three-semester track and 12 students in the four-semester track, marking the start of the programme’s seventh cohort since its launch in 2020.
Designed for both economists and graduates from other academic backgrounds, the programme offers a unique interdisciplinary blend of finance, investments, financial technologies, data analytics, and digital business models. Students can tailor their studies through a wide range of elective courses covering topics such as financial fraud, fintech payments, behavioural finance, accounting, banking, insurance and pension funds, business analytics, and data analysis with R and Python.
A distinctive feature of the programme is its strong emphasis on practical learning. Alongside traditional coursework, students engage in real-world case studies, industry projects, guest lectures from leading professionals, and fintech-focused hackathons that foster innovation and teamwork. The programme benefits from the active support of the Bulgarian Fintech Association, providing students with direct exposure to the rapidly evolving fintech ecosystem and industry best practices.
By combining academic excellence with close collaboration between academia and industry, the Finance, Investments and FinTech programme continues to prepare highly skilled professionals for careers in financial institutions, investment firms, fintech companies, consulting, and the broader digital economy.
