From Zero to FinTech hackathon is the logical next step of the Master’s degree programmes: Finance, Investments and FinTech at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and “FinTech, Finance and Digital Innovation” at VUZF University. Participants from all over the FinTech space are welcome to participate. The event is supported by the public and private sector in Bulgaria and Europe, including the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Bulgaria, Financial Supervision Commission of Bulgaria, Innovative Sofia, VUZF University, Technical University-Sofia, and others.
The hackathon will be held in 7 days, starting with workshop sessions, led by FinTech experts in sales and marketing, FinTech regulation, VC Investments, etc. The following five days from 19-24 March the participants, gathered in teams will be working on the creation of FinTech business models under the supervision of a mentor-specialist. On 25th March each team will have to create a 3-minute video presentation to show their progress and ideas. On the final day of the event, 26 March, a short FinTech conference will be held, where FinTech-related hot topics will be discussed. At the end of the day, the three best-performed ideas and teams will be awarded prizes to continue their work and make their business plans a reality.
